#65 = Year4, Talk about the film

Before everything starts, the blog is currently facing some technical issues that cause lagging (probably because my photos have overloaded it.) so for future updates, I might only do it briefly here and instead, will leave a link direct to a more detailed .txt document.

I made a few ideas for the film in the summer, but most of them turned out to be unrealistic and too ambitious. The only thing that could be confirmed is that it will be a 2d digital film.

Most of the ideas were inspired by Tokusatsu films (especially Ultraman) I watched in my childhood but it was more focusing on the massive destruction that had been made.

“It was about trauma, set in a post-apocalyptic world, a boy is trying to figure out what had happened with his company.”

That’s the first one, can’t do it because it's too complicated for a short film. It requires a full detailed setting and tones of explanation conversation on what is actually going on.

I then thought maybe I could shift the focus on “a journey in a weird world”, but the problem of world settings still didn't change.

“Separate pieces of characters' daily life, some are normal, some are bizarre, and all of them seem related to each other.”

I continue to adapt the ideas from Tokusatsu films and the second one is less focused on settings.

Yes, it’s still about the destruction and trauma, but it will happen in modern and form by random sketches, and the rest of the setting will leave to the audience's imagination.

There is some notes I had made, for example, (and they are really random):

A girl eating a banana and talking about her revenge plan

A salaryman with his bag underarm chasing another character trying to convince him they can make something big

A press conference of superheroes apologize for the massive destruction that has made

An outer-space monster talking with a human, correcting his name is Radiation Monster (怪獸) instead of Radio Monster (怪獸) (There is only one-word difference in Kanji)

A guy thinking about whether he should press the button

A press conference of superheroes apologize for the massive destruction that has been made, but from the perspective of a victim

Actually, it seems to be interesting when I type it out here, but I worried about whether there is any copyright issue to “making reference”, and the script may take time to make it well, (especially I want to make it in Japanese) but worth considering this plan.

But right now, the current idea was not related to anything from above.

It is a love comedy sketch, around 6 minutes (no longer than 8), about a boy, a girl and a lollipop.

There are still things going on between the ideas above to this jump but I will update in the next one.
